Let’s Make A better future for Moloko

Moloko is a young man of 26 years old, who is a college dropout (not by choice). He was studying Science in Computing in Botswana. His life thus far has only had more lows than highs. Even the family he comes from didn’t treat him well most of the time, they treated him like an outcast. Moloko left home for the city to pursue his dream of becoming a Computer Scientist.

He comes from an underprivileged family and his parents could not manage to rent him his own house therefore he stayed with some of his extended family. As time went by they turned against him and threw him out into the streets without a care about how he will study or about his survival. He later found four boys to stay with, in a single room where they would sleep on the floor in the cold drizzling winter. These boys would often take his property and starve him even though he was the one buying the food. He started looking for part time jobs to provide for himself and his family, in the part time job he found they made him work long and hard even though they knew he was a student all they cared for was to get their work done. He now spent more time at work than at school and because of this he failed and stayed a year at home in 2018 which led him into a disheartening state of depression and self-hate.

In 2019 his father sold the last tractor he had to pay for one of the semesters but because the old man can no longer work like in his youth he could not secure any job, in 2020 now there is nothing his father can do for him to acquire fees, he tried but that resulted in nothing. As we speak now the semester has commensed already but the university will not allow him to attend until further notice, they just threw him out, like he was never part of them. They told him that the only way for him to come back is when he has the funds.
