Dear Friends and Collegues,
As you might be aware, our time in Bangladesh is coming to an end. It's been an amazing experience over the last two and half months. The Bangladeshi people have really touched our hearts and inspired us in many ways. From all of the places we've travelled, we've found Bangladeshi's to be extremely hospitable and extrovert in nature.
While teaching at the University, which is a non-profit institution, we came across an Electrical Engineering student named Sohag, who comes from a marginalized family. One of his projects is to build a self-powered generator out of permanent magnets to power a few light bulbs and/or charge a rickshaw battery. This generator would be used in rural areas where power is presently not available.
Another individual that really inspired us was Rabuil Islam, who has his own NGO (http://www.ofpbd.org). His NGO helps indigents groups become self-reliant by providing them access to education, agro-based farming, financial facilities, etc. Lately, he has made tremendous progress on many of his projects due to recent financial support from donors in Canada.
We have been deeply touched and inspired by the above two individuals who are trying to make a difference in other people's life. In order for this type of work to continue, and for a difference to be made in rural areas of Bangladesh where extreme poverty prevails, funding is required.
We are hoping to raise $500 before we leave and we really need your help to make this happen. We would greatly appreciate it if you can assist us by donating any amount ($5, $10, $20). You can be rest assured that 100% of the raised amount will go directly to the projects outlined above.
Thank you for your support towards building a better Bangladesh.
