My name is Carl Eaton and I am the manager of the Skem Men-Aces which is a football team solely for adults with a learning disability. We have been in existence since July 2009 and while the club grows at 40+ the phone continues to ring and the popularity of this club goes from strength to strength. We have had tremendous success over our few short years and have been featured on TV,local radio stations including BBC Radio Merseyside and the local papers on a weekly basis. We have also been featured in the famous Readers digest and in 2012 we won volunteer of Great Britain award with the Sunday Telegraph.

We are also proud to announce that we now are accredited with the Special Olympics GB and only last year we took Silver at the Ntional Olympic games held in bath

It is very important to us that we support other charities in our community as we have been supported and to date we have raised around £5,000 to much needed groups and individuals. This year we have decided to organise a non stop 24 hour football spectacular with the support of the local community and ouir aim is to raise at least £2,000. Half of this will go to our youngest fan 7 year old Ben Jones who has a very rare condition -22q13 deletion or Phelan McDermid Syndrome. For more information about Ben please visit his site www.bensbuggyruns.com

The other half of the needed £2,000 will go towards providing a Defribrillator. In truth alot of us had likely never heard of Sudden Adult Death Syndrome SADS before the very well publicised collapse of Bolton player Fabrice Muamba. The Defribrillator proved beyond any doubt how valuable this device can save lives. Our aim is to provide our club with a Defribrillator so that if the unthinkable did happen we could possibly save a life.

PLEASE PLEASE donate to this cause and show your support to both little Ben and the Skem Men-Aces. Help us to get our Defribrillator, that if ever needed could one day save a life.. Thankyou so much Carl.
