A Letter of Intent: APPEAL FOR SUPPORT TO LAUNCH MY CAMPAIGN & TRAIN WOMEN LEADERS ON STRATEGY

Dear Constituents, Friends and Supporters:

I am writing this as a letter to Marakwet West Constituents and well-wishers.

My name is Beatrice Cherutich Biwott. I am wife and mother. I was born in Marakwet West, I went to school in Marakwet West both primary and high school. I then proceeded to Highride Teachers College for my college degree. From there I went to Kapcherop to begin my career as a teacher. I got married her in Marakwet West and I have a house in Marakwet West. It is my home, it is my family and it is my source of pride.

I am happy to have served in the civil service for over 30 years as primary school teacher. There I made you proud. I represented our constituency the best I could. Standing up for the orphans in the society, sacrificing my time to see our childrens future maturing in to their dreams.

I am proud to have taught pilots, doctors, engineers, lawyers and even teachers like me. It was a calling I love and did with a passion, and before I left I spear headed the construction of a High School within Arap Moi Primary School so that the children could not miss high school. Some of these I did were outside our constituency but how I longed to them within our constituency. I took a brave decision. Knowing that change must come and come fast, I decided to vie for Marakwet West MP.

I have formed Women At Heart Initiative an NGO with a few friends of mine from Marakwet West and started sourcing for funds in partnership with Sunshine Africa Foundation to channel to our constituencies. I resigned from the Civil Service and started attending forums on governance and development.

I have attended many leadership and democracy seminars and training. What have learned is for the benefit of Marakwet and women leaders at large across Kenya, Africa and the world. I am seeking your support.

Why?

I believe in the new Marakwet West and a New Kenya. Let us be the face of transformation in our society. I am stern especially with moral values. We should stop these leaders with corrupted morals from leading us. They are leading us with one compromise after another. I am asking for this chance not because of me but because together we can do it. From Kapcherop, to Lelan, to Chebara to Cheptongei and all of Marakwet West.

How?

This is the question that has been most eluded by MPs and Aspirants. Feeding us with all the things they can do. This is where I want us to debate, lets us generate debate on the hows, on the ideologies not on individuals. Since this is a huge topic and I cannot summarise it in a letter. I will be writing an article on how to transform Marakwet West. From here I will encourage all of us to debate together.

Let us keep up the communication. My email is [email protected], you can email me and I promise to get back to you.

Yours Sincerely,

Beatrice Biwott,

Coordonator,
