Angelo, Marjorie, Jessa, and Patrick are some of the 36 former street teens who hopes to achieve their dreams. They are being taken care of by Virlanie Foundation, Inc., a home for the kids of the poorest of the poor, abandoned, exploited, neglected, and orphaned. These 13 to 18 year old teens are currently being rehabilitated and prepared for a better life outside the foundation. Some of them will return to their families, while some of them would have to live on their own.

We interviewed these teens and it was wonderful to learn about their hopes and dreams. They shared their dreams of becoming successful one day – one wants to become a business man, another dreams of being a grade school teacher, while two others want to be a flight attendant, and a dancer. But at the same time, we felt their uncertainty about their future. "Masaya ako kasi nasa tamang edad na ako at clear na sa'kin ang pangarap ko. Kinakabahan din ako dahil hindi ko alam kung matutupad" Angelo said. ("I'm happy because I'm already in the right age and my dreams are clear to me. But I'm also nervous because I do not know if it will come true).

While it is normal for us to feel anxious about our future, it can be a lot more challenging for these teens because they do not have the same privileges we get from our parents.

However, their lives can change through your support. You have the power to help them realize their dreams! For as low as P100, you can help one teen for one day in school. And with accumulated efforts and donations from you, our friends and the community, we can raise P80,000 to help one teen get a four-year college degree.

You may also participate in our #SmileYouCanDoIt campaign. Write a "Note of Encouragement" and empower them to believe in themselves, to work hard, and to never give up on their dreams. Post it on your Facebook account to spread the initiative. At the end of the campaign, we will print out all the posts with the #SmileYouCanDoIt and give it to the teens.

These teens are counting on you! :)
