Our Mom’s Battle against Cancer

Last October 2018, our mother was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. A type of Blood Cancer. A cancer that has no cure but is treatable to prolong her life.

She just turned 61 at that time. Her SSS pension was freshly processed and she was excited to fully enjoy her senior days with my father. At first, we all thought it was just rheumatic problems because of old age. After a thorough medical tests, it was confirmed. It's CANCER. We all broke down. We wept on our own as we do not want to show her weakness.

She may be old and some may think that it is natural to get sick at her age, but she is our mother and we love her dearly. And we may understand that life expires, but we just cannot bear to see her in pain.

Family, friends, and loved ones please help us with the medical expenses. PCSO and other government agencies are of big help as well. But with chemotherapy, weekly medical laboratories, and hospital bills, it is not enough. We have all drained our financial resources, and now we are desperately seeking for financial help. We just don't know what to do anymore.

She has to go through 6 cycles of chemo and autologous (bone marrow transplant). We are still on our 5th cycle due to sudden drop of her electrolytes which led her to be hospitalized for a month and of without chemo.

We love her. We will be crippled without her. And our father will be at a lost without her. And we just can't let her go like this. Please help my mother, Ligaya Bordones Obnial, 62.
