We are two South African born guys who lived in London for ten years, then decided to pursue organic farming and artisan food production on a small farm near Åsele, southern Swedish Lapland.
The farm boasts a rustic cottage, built circa 1932 which we need to renovate to provide much needed income from tourists visiting the area. The income generated will be the first source of income for the farm, which will be reinvested.
The cottage needs a bathroom and kitchen, proper insulation throughout and extensive roof repairs. We will do the renovation work ourselves except for the electricity and plumbing. Where possible we will up-cycle and re-use materials to reduce waste and cost.
The aim is to become responsible, sustainable organic farmers and producers of honest artisan food products. We aim to keep goats to produce cheese, there will also be bees, pigs, chickens, a vegetable garden and orchard.
The local area is known for its lakes, fishing, forests and the Northern lights. Not to forget the snow, of which there is a lot! We want to introduce visitors to the beautiful and unique sights and experiences that the area has to offer.
We are in the process of developing a website where it will be easier to follow our adventures and progress.
