African Impact Foundation works with communities across southern and eastern Africa to build schools and create programs that will enable quality education for children across the developing world.
This is where we come in. Emily and I will travel to Kenya in August and spend 2 weeks volunteering on the Teaching and Vulnerable Childcare program.
We will fund the build of a new classroom for a local school which only has one room. We will then be assisting teachers in the school, developing new teaching material and sharing our ideas to develop the classroom.
We will help children who are falling behind with one-to-one attention that they would otherwise not receive. One day a week we will visit the local orphanage and assist with the younger children and babies there.
We want to go out there armed with lots and lots of teaching materials, feminine hygiene products etc. We also want to be able to donate directly to the school for the new classroom and help them purchase more teaching resources.
On a personal note and the reason we want to do this; 2019 was a horrid year for us but it taught us that we are strong, we can overcome battles and sadness. During that year, we received so much support from family, friends and even strangers. This is our way of paying it forward and helping others less fortunate than us.
Without you this will not be achievable. Can you help?
