My name is Kamau Macua, a student at the University of Cape Town (UCT), South Africa (student number: MCXWIL001). I am currently pursuing a degree in Urban Infrastructure Design and Management (UIDM), located in the UCT department of civil engineering. The key focuses of my studies have been planning for and managing sustainable growth and developmental. I intend to incorporate my academic work and skills gained to improve the Global South, particular disadvantaged urban and rural areas similar to my background.

This year, 2018, is meant to be my final year of study, after obtaining 1st and 2nd class passes in the 2017 academic year. I have only one course/module and a thesis left to complete, however, I am unable to register due to inadequate funding. I am thus at risk of financial exclusion should I not raise funds to register and graduate in 2018. I have been pursuing this degree under harsh circumstances, with limited resources and support from the start. Your contribution to this campaign will go towards paying for my outstanding fees and see me into graduation.

Immediately after graduating, I intend to further incorporate my academic work and skills gained into a youth empowerment initiative I begun, the Progressive and Equitable Empowerment of South African Youth (Pro-EESAy), which became defunct due to inadequate resources.

Thank you for your contribution towards my journey, your support shall not go unforgotten!
