HASA – Hunter Asylum Seeker Advocacy Fundraiser

We are a group of volunteers in Newcastle, called HASA, or Hunter Asylum Seeker Advocacy. We aim to spread the message about the illegal treatment of asylum seekers by the Australian Government, particularly those detained on Nauru. We hold regular meetings, vigils, information nights and marches.

The funding we receive will go towards:

1. Phone cards for the detainees on Nauru, so they can keep in touch with their families.
2. Financing venues for our information nights
3. Donations to similar groups who send parcels of much needed supplies to the asylum seekers on Nauru

Any little bit you can spare will go directly towards helping Asylum Seekers.
