Run for Smiles

EVERY CHILD DESERVES THE RIGHT TO SMILE, BEAUTIFULLY.

Every 3 minutes, a child is born with a cleft condition (*). These children often face illness, bullying and isolation. Unfortunately, most of them come from underprivileged families in developing countries, who couldn't afford finance for a surgery. In Vietnam, 1 in every 700 babies is born with cleft lip or cleft palate.

Operation Smile is an international medical charity that has provided hundreds of thousands of free surgeries for children and young adults in developing countries who are born with cleft lip, cleft palate or other facial deformities.

In Vietnam, Operation Smile has been providing more than 62,000 free surgeries and medical treatments to the Vietnamese children and families, bring them new lives, hopes and dignities.

On Saturday, December 18, I will be joining with Do Trong Nhon, an ultra trail runner, one of the ambassadors of Operation Smile Vietnam, to support him for his fundraising running: 100km in 8h30m. His goal is to raise enough fund to cover 5 surgeries for 5 kids with cleft condition.

I have set a challenge for myself to join him for 21km running. This would be my longest run so far since I started practicing early this year. I would be grateful for your kind support on this cause. You can support me by donating a certain amount of money on every km I run ($2, $5 or $10/km...) or you can donate a fixed amount. Every dollar you support would add so much value and meaning.

One surgery would cost approximately $500 and I hope I could raise enough money to sponsor Operation Smile Vietnam one free surgery for one kid who is living with cleft condition.
