60 mile cycle for the excess skin

After losing nearly 50% of my total body weight, going from 30 to 17 stone using hard work, commitment and dedication to regular exercise and proper eating, I have obviously and understandably been left with quite an amount of excess skin and the only way to treat it now is with a major operation.

A standard abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) isn’t enough so I actually have to look on a Body Lift instead. As this is such a major procedure, the cost is a bit more than expected. One quote came back at £15k and I’m waiting on others on top of the consultation fees.

Many people asked me about some kind of Crowdfunding to get this operation done, I was adamant that I wouldn’t do it but I underestimated the severity of the procedure I need. So now, I am putting myself out there asking if anyone can help me towards my next goal on this journey. Even just to get consultations with other surgeons to make sure I’m getting the best option.

So, on Saturday 8th February, I will be cycling from Kirkby to Salford Royal Hospital and back which is, roughly, a 60 mile round trip.
