I have decided to step outside of my comfort zone and follow through on a lifelong ambition to develop a 5 day Spiritual Warrior Seminar.
The purpose of this email is to briefly introduce myself and the 5 day Spiritual Warrior Seminar. My name is Sense Jerold Rivera and I have been teaching this seminar for the past 2 years. As Christians, we are called to be both servants and soldiers of Christ. As this 5 day Spiritual Warrior Seminar demonstrates, there is much we can learn from the teachings and example of these legendary servant-warriors of Japan. We can respond to the call of our Lord, Jesus Christ, as Christian Samurai.
The 5 day Spiritual Warrior Seminar is a matchless resource for Christians intrigued by the mythos of the samurai or Japanese culture, for Christian martial artists, or for pastors and other spiritual leaders who are looking for exciting anecdotes that illustrate Biblical ideals. Christian parents whose children enjoy Anime or Manga will find it a useful tool in understanding their children’s interests and in ministering to them.
The value of this seminar is in its ability to show Christians what true servant hood is by examples of the writings of the samurai of old. After experiencing it, you will have a much better sense of what service and self-denial is. More importantly, it has helped over 148 attendees see more clearly the example that Jesus set, and has encouraged them see that they can do much more.
Anyone looking for a good empowering way to truly become of service toy Christ will benefit from the 5 day Spiritual Warrior Seminar. Christian martial artists, on the other hand, need this book. The excerpts on serving one’s lord are eye-openers for any Christian with a “soft” view of service that rarely goes beyond activities at their local church. The willingness of a warrior to give himself completely to his lord underscores what it means to make oneself part of the body of Christ.
"Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?
I have sent some videos of my students and Seminar attendees as well as a demonstration I did in the Bronx.
I kindly ask you to assist in the continuing efforts of this seminar. What we would need the funding for is a website, marketing materials and staff to keep this project going.
I really appreciate your support with this very worthy project.
Thank you so much, Shogun Rivera
