4th Istanbul Fellowship Program

Hi,

My name is Mohd Zaidi Abdullah from Malaysia. You can call me Zaidi. Currently I work with USM Press. I have applied for 4th Istanbul Fellowship Program organised by Turkish Press and Publishers Copyright & Licensing Society (TBYM) that will be happening on 26-28 February 2019. The program is the largest professional organisation of publishers in Turkey. The aim of this program is to contribute to bilateral cooperation between Turkish and foreign publishers, and to make Istanbul a marketplace for copyrights exchange. My application was accepted by them but unfortunately, they do not support my travelling and accommodation.

As one of the player in book industry, it is important for me to join the program since it can boost the book industry in Malaysia and hopefully will also increase the reading habits among Malaysian. By joining this program, I will have opportunity not only to meet with Turkish publishers but also publishers from around the world. This program will provide huge opportunity for Malaysia book industry such as selling rights, co-publishing and market Malaysia books to Turkey.

The fund will be used for my flight travelling to Istanbul, Turkey from Malaysia and also for my accommodation in Istanbul for 5 days 4 nights. Even though the program will be started on 26th February 2019, I need to confirm my attendance to the organiser before 28th January 2019. Thus, I need the fund before 24th January 2019.
