We are raising funds to alleviate Literature Poverty and Bible Poverty in South Africa by providing Bible Based Literature Do & Learn material to impoverished schools.
During the course of 2019 a total of 29 839 Bible Based Literature Do & Learn Packs (consisting of 3 books) were distributed to 80 impoverished schools. The reading ability of Grade 4 learners (four out of five) are lower than the internationally recognised benchmark. Today, just over three million South Africans remain illiterate, according to Statistics South Africa.
Another goal which we are striving to reach by August 2021, is to set up Reading Centres across South Africa's impoverished areas where we can assist the young and the old. Not only will they receive the gift of reading but we aim to create an environment of entrepreneurship in these communities by setting up vegetable gardens and use local resources to start their own enterprise.
How can you help?
We are thankful for any size donation. Every donation will add up to provide living books, which brings hope and a future, but sowing seeds of eternal value.
