To whom it may concern,

my name is Josipa (Josephine) and I am raising funds to help my husband (Saša) Sasha with his startup business. We are a family of three, two of us and our newborn daughter Greta. I am self employed photographer on maternal leave until June. In the meantime, Sasha is filling in as a photographer and helping out as videographer if necessary.

He lost his day job just weeks upon the birth of our girl. Company he worked for got sold and workers laid of. Being creative and innovative throughout his life, he decided to take the matter in his own hands. He was into robotics and innovation since he was a child, it came naturally to him.

Business wise, we took everything we had to make this investment. We invested in 3D printers, computers and electronics to make the prototype work. The prototype is currently missing only one component, but it takes time and bunch of books to learn programming from scratch. He devoted all of his waking hours to make it work, and it surely will.

His idea is quite simple. 3D Printed Videography Equipment. Motorized Camera Slider to start with.

"A camera slider is a set of bracketed tracks that mounts to either a set of tripod legs or a light stand. The slider has a movable "carriage" that you can attach directly to your camera, or you can attach a tripod head between your camera and the carriage for more panning and angle options.".

All of the camera sliders on the market are expensive, massive or poorly constructed. They are not within reach of average videographer, and far from reach to beginner or amateur. He is using his knowledge to fashion and engineer 3D printed parts combined with electronics to make affordable and sustainable product. He is also making sure to use nature friendly materials and filaments derived form recycled biodegradable plastics.

To make his idea greater he is aiming to produce an open source camera slider. Every part of the product will be published for customers to download, free of charge. They can print it out locally, alter it and make it suit their needs. They can also easily change slider setup by reprogramming its code. The idea is to be as user friendly as possible along with effective way to decrease a carbon footprint (example: if you need to replace or add a part to your slider, you download it and print out locally, without shipping or delivery).

Words "expensive" and "out of reach" do not apply only to camera sliders, they apply to most of the filming equipment. Camera slider is his first project. All of the others are yet to come.

"In the history of CINEMA, masterpieces have existed without sound, without colour, without a story, without actors and without music. No one single film has ever existed without CINEMAthography and without editing." A. Cuaron

So I am here to ask you to help him out with his masterpiece. It takes time to make it work. It takes money to make it work. It takes passion to make it work. So far, he has had all three of the above. We are running out of money, we will always find time, and never lose passion.
