30th Istanbul Pride Week Organization Committee

Istanbul LGBTI+ Pride Week celebrates its 30th anniversary!

Istanbul Pride Week, organized with the collective efforts of volunteers, who gather with open calls will take place this year 20-26 June 2022.

Istanbul Pride has brought up various themes including “Beware of the Family!”, “Taboo”, “Memory”, “Contact”, “Normal?”, “We Unite!”, “Where am I?”, “What is Economy?” and “The Street” in the last years. Once again this year, in addition to the forums, panel discussions, and events addressing issues such as health, visibility, and constitutional rights central to the agenda of the LGBTI+ movement, we will also discuss how we can build a political sense of solidarity and how we can find alternative ways to achieve this, despite the state’s evergrowing oppression.

To reach out to each other, heal our wounds, and talk about our experiences, bodies, and emotions, we will come together at workshops, and we will celebrate our solidarity at parties. Just like every year, we will vote and elect this year’s hate speech champions among your nominations at the 20th "Genetically Modified Tomatoes" ceremony. We will extend our rebellion with our comrades coming from other cities for the Pride Week. We will continue to spread throughout the city and shout out loud that "we are here".

Istanbul Pride Week the main activities for crowdfunding were the entrance fees of Pre-pride parties which attracted a lot of attention from LGBTI+ communities and allies. However, in the last 2 years due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Pride Week committees were not able to hold parties. This led them to organize the week with very limited finances. Our community and many of our activists are faced with extreme poverty, due to the lack of LGBTI+friendly venues in the aftermath of COVID-19 we are not able to hold as many fundraising events as before. Although the official numbers indicate that we are faced with %53 inflation, the reality is harder and crueler than ever before especially for those with intersecting vulnerable conditions (sex workers, disabled individuals, ethnic minorities etc.). We hope to be able to facilitate the sustainability of the committee with your help.

We are waiting for your donations for the expenses of this week-long organization that is put together with collective solidarity without any funds granted:

• Travel and accommodation expenses for the local LGBTI+ organizations coming from all across Turkey
• Travel and accommodation for the panelists
• Communication/Press expenses (i.e. social media, website hosts)
• Genetically Modified Tomato Awards (i.e. production, décor, video recordings and editings)
• Event expenses (i.e. security, fees for some event spaces if necessary)

İstanbul LGBTİ+ Onur Haftası bu yıl 30 yaşında!

Her sene yapılan açık çağrılarla bir araya gelen gönüllü grubunun kolektif katkılarıyla hazırlanan Onur Haftası 20-26 Haziran 2022 tarihlerinde gerçekleşecek.

Şimdiye kadar “Dikkat Aile Var!”, “Tabu”, “Bellek”, “Direniş”, “Temas”, “Normal?”, “Ekonomi ne ayol?”, “Ben neredeyim?”, “Sokak” ve son olarak da “Örgütleniyoruz!” temalarıyla şekillenen Onur Haftası'nda hafta boyunca LGBTİ+ hareketinin gündemini oluşturan sağlık, görünürlük ve anayasal haklar gibi konularda yaptığımız forumlar, paneller ve etkinliklere ek olarak, her gün artan baskılara rağmen nasıl politik bir aradalığı örebileceğimizi, bunun için nasıl alternatif yollar bulabileceğimizi konuşacağız.

Birbirimize dokunmak, yaralarımızı sarmak, güvenli alanlar oluşturarak deneyimlerimizi, bedenlerimizi ve duygularımızı konuşabilmek için atölyelerde, bir aradalığımızı kutlamak için partilerde buluşacağız. Bu sene de 20. Hormonlu Domates Ödülleri ile bu yılın nefret söylemlerini sizin belirlediğiniz adaylarla oylamaya sunarak seçecek, hafta boyunca yapılacak partiler ile her şehirden İstanbul LGBTI+ Onur Haftası için gelen yüzlerce kişiyle beraber eğlenerek varoluşumuzu kutlamaya, isyanımızı güçlendirmeye devam edeceğiz. Şehrin her yerine dağılmaya, hala burada olduğumuzu, direndiğimizi bağırmaya devam edeceğiz.

İstanbul Onur Haftası’nın yıllarca ana geliri LGBTİ+’lardan ve destekçilerinde yoğun ilgi gören Pre-Pride partilerinin giriş ücretleri oldu. Ancak son 2 yılda COVID-19 kısıtlamaları nedeniyle bu partileri düzenleyemiyoruz. Geçtiğimiz iki yılda da onur haftasının devamlılığını sağlayabilmek adına elimizdeki bütün kaynakları seferber ettik ve bu durum haftayı çok sınırlı mali kaynaklarla düzenlememize sebep oldu. Lubunyalar ve LGBTİ+ aktivistlerinin çoğu derin yoksullukla karşı karşıya, COVID-19 sonrasında LGBTİ+ dostu mekanların azalması, çoğunun kapanması sebebiyle de eskisi kadar çok sayıda bağış etkinliği düzenleyemiyoruz. Resmi rakamlar %53 enflasyonla karşı karşıya olduğumuzu gösterse de, özellikle kesişen hassas koşullara sahip olanlar (seks işçileri, engelliler, etnik azınlıklar vb.) için gerçek her zamankinden daha sert ve acımasız olarak karşımıza çıkıyor, LGBTİ+’lar da bu kesişimde daha da zorlanıyor. Onur haftalarının sürdürülebilirliği açısından desteğinize ihtiyaç duyuyoruz.

Kolektif bir dayanışma ile fon alınmadan hazırlanan bu hafta içerisinde bazı masraflarımız için herkesin desteğini bekliyoruz:

• Türkiye'nin dört bir yanından gelen LGBTİ+ yerel örgütlerinden gelecek kişilerin ulaşım ve konaklama masrafları
• Panel Katılımcılarının ulaşım ve konaklama masrafları
• İletişim/Basın harcamaları (Sosyal medya, websitesi sağlayıcıları)
• Hormonlu Domates Ödül Töreni (Prodüksiyon, dekor, video çekimleri)
• Etkinlik harcamaları (Güvenlik, bazı mekan sağlayıcıları)

¡La Semana del Orgullo de Estambul número 30 necesita tu apoyo!

Esta campaña, organizada exclusivamente por voluntarixs, tiene como objetivo cubrir todos los gastos de la Semana del Orgullo LGBTI+ de Estambul.

¡La Semana del Orgullo LGBTI+ de Estambul celebra su 30 aniversario!

La Semana del Orgullo de Estambul, organizada con el esfuerzo colectivo de voluntarixs, que se reúnen a través de convocatorias abiertas, tendrá lugar el 20 al 26 de junio de 2022.

Los temas que se han planteado durante los últimos años en La Semana del Orgullo son los siguientes: "¡Cuidado con la familia!", "Tabú", "Memoria", "Contacto", "¿Normal?", "¡Nos unimos!", "¿Dónde estoy?", "¿Qué es la economía ?” y “La Calle”. Una vez más, este año, además de los foros, discusiones y eventos que abordan temas como la salud, la visibilidad y los derechos constitucionales, también discutiremos cómo podemos construir una conciencia política basada en la solidaridad, a pesar de la creciente opresión del estado.

Para acercarnos, curar nuestras heridas y hablar de nuestras experiencias, cuerpos y emociones, nos reuniremos en talleres y mostraremos nuestra solidaridad de forma festiva. Como todos los años, votaremos y elegiremos a los campeones del discurso de odio del año en la vigésima ceremonia de "Tomates genéticamente modificados". Propagaremos nuestra rebeldía con compañerxs venidos de otras ciudades para la Semana del Orgullo. Nos seguiremos esparciendo por la ciudad y gritando fuerte que “aquí estamos”.

Una de las principales fuentes de ingresos para financiar la semana del orgullo ha sido la venta de entradas a fiestas previas al orgullo. Estas fiestas han sido muy populares entre la comunidad LGBTI+ y sus aliados. Sin embargo, en los últimos 2 años, debido a las restricciones del COVID-19, los comités de la Semana del Orgullo no pudieron realizar estas fiestas. Esto limitó mucho el presupuesto. Nuestra comunidad y muchos de nuestros activistas se enfrentan a la pobreza extrema debido a la falta de lugares aptos para LGBTI+. Como consecuencia del COVID-19, no podemos realizar tantos eventos de recaudación de fondos como antes. Además, la situación económica no es nada favorable, nos enfrentamos a una inflación del 53%. La realidad es más dura y cruel que nunca, especialmente para aquellos con condiciones vulnerables (trabajadores sexuales, personas discapacitadas, minorías étnicas, etc.). Esperamos poder facilitar la sostenibilidad del comité con vuestra ayuda.

Para cubrir los gastos de este evento y permitir que esta semana sea posible, os pedimos vuestra contribución a través de donaciones. Esta semana se ha organizado de forma solidaria y colectiva sin ningún fondo ni ayuda institucional.

Nuestros principales gastos son los siguientes:

Gastos de viaje y alojamiento para las organizaciones LGBTI+ locales que vienen de toda Turquía.

Viaje y alojamiento de lxs compañerxs que realizan las discusiones.

Gastos de comunicación/prensa (es decir, redes sociales, alojamiento de sitios web, etc.)

Premios de tomate modificado genéticamente (es decir, producción, decoración, grabaciones de video y ediciones)

Gastos del evento (es decir, seguridad, tarifas para algunos espacios del evento si es necesario)
