#30before30 for a good cause

Dear friends,

In a few days (26th Feb) I will be celebrating my 30 years of life. Its been a while now that I have set a goal of visiting 30 countries before reaching my 30th birthday (#30before30) Everything is going as planned, and at this moment I am visiting the Baltic countries and by 26th of February I will have reached my goal.

For this reason I have taken the initiative to create a funding platform for arguably one of the most important NGOs of our island. This organisation is SPAVO (Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family) whose aim is to provide support to people who experience domestic violence.

So I kindly ask you for this year instead of buying me a present to donate as much as you are able to to SPAVO.

-> The mission of SPAVO Association is directly related and reflected to the issues we seek to address, which are: a) The provision of direct help to victims of Domestic Violence; b) The provision of housing and protection to victims of domestic violence (abused women and their children); c) The provision of training and educational courses to women, victims of Domestic Violence, in order to facilitate their social inclusion process; d) The theoretical and practical training of people who are interested in supporting victims of domestic violence voluntarily; e) The informing and sensitizing concerning issues of Domestic Violence, not only the appropriate governmental bodies, but also to the public; f) Identifying deficiencies or weaknesses in the relevant laws and legislation and submitting suggestions to the appropriate governmental bodies.
