I'll be completing the Three Peaks Challenge this June 20th along with a handful of colleagues!
The gruelling challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks in England (Scafell Pike - 978m), Wales (Snowdon - 1085m) and Scotland (Ben Nevis - 1344m) within 24h (this has to include travel time from one mountain to the next!).
Join me in accomplishing much more than just aching legs and blistered feet!
Donations small and big (and everything in between) will go straight to a charity called Friends of the Philippines. This is an initiative led by staff and students Grades 3 to 5 of the International School of Luxembourg who work directly with a small (less than 10 volunteers!) NGO in the Philippines, called One for One (https://www.facebook.com/oneforoneph?fref=ts).
One for One have been working toward rebuilding the municipality of Daanbantayan in Northern Cebu in the wake of Typhoon Yolanda.
Friends of the Philippines and One for One have now been cooperating to rebuild and furnish ruined classrooms, as local children have had to make use of daycare facilities for their school work.
One for One send progress updates with pictures and copies of receipts of work done to ensure full accountability - and it's fantastic to see how funds raised have such a huge, positive and direct impact on the community.
