Back in October of 2020, in my family’s little city in Costa Rica, my brother-in-law lost his job due to COVID. This happened when they were in the middle of building a small place on my parents property. Now they staying with my parents.

That’s my parents, my twin sisters, their husbands, and my niece and nephews all living in one small house. When I visited them recently, I was in tears. The place looked like it was hit by a natural disaster. Now there are four adults and four little kids all sleeping in one little living room.

It’s been four months living like this. This isn’t living... it’s just surviving. My sisters work in what they can to help their husbands but isn't enough, one is selling jewelry and the other one is selling bread that she makes by herself. My family was raised to be hardworking. I started working when I was 14. This is how we are raised in Costa Rica. To be responsible. To work hard. My family doesn’t ask for help. Now I am doing it for them.

I am reaching out because they can’t do it on their own. I am the oldest of my parents’ children. When I asked my sisters to speak to our father, he set aside his pride and agreed to reach out. Now my sister is crying tears of joy because I am helping. She believes that God has seen their suffering and that help is on their way.

I am a messenger. Asking you to help my loved ones during this difficult time. My brother-in-law have found work, but they are barely able to provide let alone rebuild a place for their wives and kids.
