Would you help a fellow nerd in need?
I’ve hit a snag with my tuition costs, and I need help.Sadly, this is my last option because as an adult, there aren’t many scholarship options open to me and there are not any student loan lenders I can turn to that haven’t already turned me down. I really have tried everything.
Being the son of a Disabled Veteran, I have the misfortune of not being particularly wealthy, so naturally, I’m having a hard time. I normally wouldn’t be doing something like this, but someone suggested I try it.
I hope some of you might be willing to help me continue my education in Film and Video production. I’ve just recently applied to, and have been accepted into Temple University for the “Bachelor’s Degree of Communication” program where I will study video production as my major, with a minor in motion graphics.
I have had a love of film since I was a child and have recently grown a passion for CG motion capture. My mom still refers to me as being a fountain of movie trivia even to this day! Over the years, I have taught myself many different things to prepare for my higher education in this industry.
Now that I want to do this officially and make a career out of it, I’m hitting a snag. I’m a hard worker, and I study hard, too. My GPA has stayed steady at around 3.56, and I’m even participating in my university’s student government as well. (I’m the President!)
So that’s what brings me here, and I thank anyone willing to help me so that maybe one day I can achieve my dream of Directing my own movies. Maybe even become the next Kubri c or Fellini. Sorry, I jest, I don’t know if anyone can claim those lofty titles.
If you’re still reading, and you’re interested, I made a rough draft of my video essay for my film class project to show off some of my skills! My thesis was a little vague, but the editing seems pretty solid. What do you think?
