Medical and Social Support for WWII Survivors

The current situation in Ukraine affects retired age people most of all. Those who survived WWII aren’t an exception.

They are very old and sick, some of them are completely lonely; some have families that either do not want or do not have any possibility to support them. Their homes and belongings are almost as old as they are, irrespectively of the increase of pensions, which took place during 2018 in Ukraine, their pensions are almost nothing (about 60-100 USD per month while they have to spend 80-100% on utilities monthly).

All-Ukrainian Charitable Fund "To You" (ACF 2U) is a dynamic non-governmental organization officially registered in August 2013. Fund’s projects are aimed at improvement of the living conditions of the most vulnerable segments of the population (lonely elderly WWII survivors, people with special needs, and children at risk). Much attention is paid to the inter-confessional and inter-ethnic dialogue.

ACF 2U provides assistance to IDPs from Eastern Ukraine, where war conflict is in progress for the last 5 years, schools, public hospitals.

Very special place in Fund activities is occupied by Righteous Gentiles. They receive different types of assistance: partial home repairs, prescribed medicines are covered, food sets and NFI are provided…

On one hand we would like to meet their real needs, to make their life healthier and dignified; on another hand we want them to feel, to know, to understand that our generation is thankful to these people.

The project consists of 3 parts:

1). Prescribed medicines, which are extremely expensive and are always needed, are covered.

2). Surgeries would be partially covered upon request.

3). Provision of needed unaffordable items (blood testers, glucometers, diapers, hearing aid, wheel chairs…). No bulk purchases, as we want to meet their real needs upon requests.

It’s a proper message to the society and G-d’s act.
