2nd Iloilo LGBT Pride March

Greetings of Peace!

I am Justin Francis Bionat, current chairperson of the Iloilo Pride Team and lead convener of the 2nd Iloilo LGBT Pride March. I am starting this crowdfunding campaign because I believe that as a community and allies working for equality worldwide, we need to build relationships and connections.

The Iloilo Pride Team is a collective of LGBT personalities, advocates and activities based in the small city of Iloilo in the Philippines, fondly called the CITY OF LOVE. We were formed out of the desire to continue advocating for equality and acceptance in the community. We stand as the collective voice of the LGBT community in our region. As an organization, we are a non-profit, community based, grassroots organization that has survived out of our own financial means: personal donations, pledges and support systems.

We successfully organized the first Iloilo Pride March last December 2, 2016, through our collective efforts as a community. Our goal now is to continue this annual pride march that will serve as our strength here in our community to continue fighting for the vicious discrimination, hate and oppression of LGBTs in the Phillippine society. With this initiative we can push for legislation locally as we are lobbying for the Anti-Discrimination Ordinance of Iloilo City and also lobby for national laws that would protect and support LGBT rights.

I now invite you, friends, allies, fellow advocates to support our initiative. We are not asking much. A small modest amount would suffice. Just enough to allow us to showcase our identity while we advocate for our rights. I am asking your support, considering your magnanimity and ardent advocacy, to make the 2nd Iloilo LGBT Pride March a reality.
