In our society today, education is the key to achievement and success. With many economic struggles this greatly hinders the possibilities for young adults of low-income families to enroll after school sports. Fighting the cycles of poverty, we encourage and empower children to discover their inner champions through skill and talent development, and to acquire the winning attitudes that drive success.
The Babe Ruth Leage provides our youth with the opportunity to develop both physically and mentally as they compete as a team. Our baseball team requires good sportsmanship, solid academics and a charitable attitude from all of our players.
I am writing this letter on behalf of the Surprise Arizona Black Sox Babe Ruth League Baseball Team. The Black Sox is the newest team in the Babe Ruth Youth League, located in Surprise, Arizona. There are many expenses trying to get a sports team off the ground with very limited resources. While we have acquired most equipment needed for the young men to participate safely, we are limited in the resources to allow them to compete in the tournaments. My goal is to help a group of young men participate in a sport they love and give them an opportunity to be part of something they can be proud of.
With limited budgets and ever growing needs, fundraising for the Black Sox's Baseball is a large driving force in being able to obtain team necessities. That is why we will be running the 1st Pledge Drive to help the Black Sox's meet their financial goals. This year the baseball programs goal is to raise $4,000 through the pledge drive. This goal, will help with the needs of this growing team, to provide them with the Registration fee that these low income families are struggling to come up with to allow there child to play. This goal will also also help with the baseball uniforms to allow the team not only look complete but also give them a feeling of unity. We would purchase baseballs for practice as the ones we have acquired are splitting in the seams. With economic issues being a high complication any remaining funds acquired will be used towards batting cage practices as well as traveling to tournaments.
I certainly understand that time and money are at a great premium these days. The Pledge drive offers a way for any baseball supporters to donate any some of money, large or small, and know that their money will go directly to supporting the baseball program.
Any help for this great group of boys would be appreciated.
