We are two final year medical students MbChB (M.D. for our United States supporters). We both have part time jobs in order to try and pay for our studies. I am a tutor and my friend works as a phlebotomist (works night shifts). Our class fees will increase and due to the fact that we are white: we do not qualify for the "fee raising excemtion", we cannot get bursaries from any government institutions like the Department of Healt, we cannot get funding from our own university, nor from the tertiary funding scheme NSFAS.

I lost my bursary due to a South African Post Office "error", the documents were never delivered, despite my constant follow ups, and the closing date was 14 November 2016. They are now just shrugging their shoulders.

Both of us have an average of >75% which means we will get our degrees Cum Laude. I already have a Master's degree in Law and my friend has the equivalent of a BSc.

The money we earn will not be enough to pay our studies. We do not qualify for further loans. The amount we are asking for are for class fees, text books and equipment such as stethoscopes and ENT sets.

Please help us to finish our degrees!
