This event will take place at St. Frederick High School in Monroe, LA on September 20, 2014. It is the First Annual St. Vincent De Paul Society Walk for the Poor. The St. Vincent De Paul Society provides pharmacy services, food baskets, clothing and other aid to needy families, homeless, and elderly persons in a 17 parish area in Northeast Louisiana. I have been involved first hand with several of their fundraisers and support services.
My seven year old, William, and I have been entering 5 k races in the area over the past 2 years and he has really become involved with sporting events and fundraisers in the local community. We intend to walk at least 5 miles during the walk for the poor event and would like to raise a total goal of $2,000 thru this event to contribute to their cause. We would like a donation of $4 per mile or $20 total donation from each person but we accept any amount smaller or larger as well. I know that every dollar goes directly to support the poor because just like me and William, all persons involved with St. Vincent De Paul Society in this area work on volunteer basis. Many are retired or have been helped by the society before and are giving back in time and good deeds.
For any donation of $20 or more we will send out a donation thank you letter from the SVDP society for your charitable donation tax records and after the event a photo of us participating in the event.
For any donation of $50 or more we will send out the above items as well as put your name or business name as a donor on a T-shirt we will design and wear during the event.
For any donation of $100 or more we will include all of the above items and send you an event T-shirt.
Thanks for your support!
