1 Dollar for a Kidney – You can help!

Hi everyone! My name is Jeffrey Abenojar, 34 years old from Taytay, Rizal, Philippines. I am a public transportation driver. I live a simple life.

That was me before and how the life in dialysis changed me. I was diagnosed of POLYCYTHEMIA in December of 2013. For those of you who are not familiar with this term, Polycythemia means abnormal increase of red blood cells. As a therapy, I have to visit a doctor every week to do phlebotomy where they remove the excess hemoglobin and regulate my blood circulation. Because of that, I feel weak, I couldn't sleep or eat; I even have difficulty in peeing. On March 2014, I was diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 5. At first, I thought dialysis would heal me. I always ask my nurses when I will get my next dialysis; they wouldn't answer - they couldn't tell me the truth.

Until my doctor told me, that I have to do dialysis for the rest of my life...

My heartbeat stop, I couldn't move. I asked God, why me? What did I do wrong? Why don't You just take me Lord? That's when the bible taught me, that this is my mission. My family and friends become my inspiration. My wife and only adapted son motivates me to believe that I will be a living testament. I love them so much and I want to be there with them as a good husband and a father to take care of him as he grows up and finish his studies.
