Benefitting
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County
We are committed to creating positive relationships
through one-to-one mentoring and instilling hope into those children's futures.
We are currently serving over 550 youth, between the ages of 6-18, throughout Erie County in our Community-Based and School-Based Programs. Our Community-Based Matches are created between our great kids and adult volunteers, who build a foundation based on friendship and enjoy positive activities togehter that contribute to our kids future successes. Our School-Based Program positively impacts students in all eight school districts, including Sandusky, Sandusky Central Catholic, Vermilion, Margaretta, Perkins, Milan, Bellevue, and Huron. In all these school districts, over 425 Grade School Little Buddies are meeting with their High School Big Buddy and enjoying educational and social guidance with evaluations showing that over 60% of participants show an increase in areas of confidence, competence, and respect.
We are a small staff with a budget of approximately $170,000. Our revenue consist of approximately 24% from United Way, less than 10% Foundation Grants, and the remaining funds are raised through fund raising events, and local giving from individuals and organizations.
We hope you will consider contributing to our success in serving the youth of our community.
