We are a group of 2 like-minded Communication Specialists. We met in Leeds when we were undertaking our postgraduate study at the University of Leeds. During our term, we knew that we are meant to do something together.
Having discussed many aspects concerning society in a great deal, we came into an idea to establish a charity foundation. The main reason that grounds this option is our shared purpose to educate people. We came from a background that enables us to obtain our human rights. Yet, we witness that there are many people who are not as "lucky" as we are. As a result, we often find great potentials are caught up in situations that deprive them from their human rights. Therefore, we are here to create a path so that children from marginalized communities could walk in the same journey as we do.
We believe that people are intelligent and what they need is an equal access that enables them to showcase their potentials. Our best bet to set the great-minds free is through education, notably critical thinking and problem solving skills. Children should be allowed to be children. A ten year old should not worry about anything else other than studying. Let the worries about providing proper education fall onto the shoulders of the elders. Yet, the parents or school entities cannot always carry the task alone. Therefore, we are here to share the burden by donating allowance to 150 students in need. Our allowance will come in the form of backpacks and stationery packages, which in our opinion, are instrumental to seize ideas and imagination of the future leaders.
We are a group of 2 who intend to take an action by starting small. We start this project in our home countries and cherry-picked one country that we believe are in need. Below are the three countries where we are starting this journey of possibilities: So, come on board to this train of change. Donate whatever you can and spread the word. Help us make this goal a reality!
For our first pilot project, we collaborate with DONDERS Human Development Foundation, which is located in Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara province, Indonesia. DONDERS Foundation is working to provide shelter and basic education (writing and counting) to abandoned children. In this narrative, we want to contribute by donating the children pencils, notebooks and bag-packs they can use in their daily learning activities. Have a quick look at their happy life;
