12 Years on the Streets

You probably know him, that homeless guy from down the road. He's no different from you, he just had some bad luck and now leads a life with no hope, no perspective and no one to help him out.

The man I want to help is exactly that. I see him everyday on my way to Uni, on my way to work, asking people for change in front of the station. The other day I decided to give him twenty pounds, all I could afford, and the way his eyes lit up made my heart melt. He told me that he'd been living on the streets for twelve years now and he'd been saving up to be able to afford a place to stay, he even showed me the money he'd gotten so far. He is one of the most genuine and kind people I've ever talked to and he deserves a better life than this.

I may not be able to change the life of every homeless person roaming the streets of London, no matter how much I would love to, but I know with your help I can change at least this man's life. Not a few coppers carelessly cast aside, but a fresh start for someone who truly deserves it: Even just one pound can make a huge difference if we all join in.
