12 Towns & 60 villages mental health awareness Cycle tour with Banetsi.

Banetsi is a Registered Counsellor, that was born in Cape Town in the township called Crossroads during the apartheid era. He is the last born of five children, he was raised by his mother who is a widow. His mother always had a wish of her children one day studying at University of the Western Cape, with her small wage a car wash lady and a domestic worker of the car wash owner. three of her children including Banetsi graduated at the University of the Western Cape, he holds a bachelor of psychology degree. Banetsi is known for his mobile Psychology clinic that is serviced the township of Khayelitsha and his passion for social psychology and Township psychology.

As a therapist he uses Brain Working Recursive (BWRT), this enables him to offer free therapy and at fraction of the time that a conventional technique would take. Banetsi also uses CBT, DBT and Behaviour modification and also Alternative Interventions like Drumming, bead work and colour in art. He does not only use BWRT to help his clients on his mobile counselling unit , he also translated it into isiXhosa which is one of the click languages of South Africa. Banetsi was one of the key speakers in the 2017 inaugural Congress for BWRT in the United Kingdom. This has earned him all the Respect from other bwrt practitioners internationally for his resilience and his determination to transform South African townships using Mental Health and psychological intervention.

This therapist served as an executive committee member at Registered Counsellors and Pyschomerists division of Psychology Society of South Africa (Pyssa) and was a B.Psych Ambassador at South African College of South Africa.

His Activism does not only ends with in the mental health Fraternity, it began way back because she's also a community leader so advocating for the vulnerable and landless people ignited the spark in him to help people even further.

Banetsi is referred to as a Township Therapists because of his interest in using Psychology to transform South African Townships. Banetsi's mission it is to provide people with mental health education and let the world understand how South Africa became inhabitable for poor people, he brings this information through public speaking and a psycho education in his township, schools, and local churches.

In 2018 and 2019 his mission is to embark on 1200km cycle tour in the province of Eastern Cape, over a period of 12 months. This tour will cover 12 Towns and 60 villages or schools raising awareness and training mental health and psycho-social.
