1000 Laps For Alzheimers

Last winter the skating Emera Oval on the Halifax Commons was likely responsible for saving my life. At more than 300 lbs, the first time I skated in 20 years I managed to do 5 laps...of course with breaks after each lap. I skated 4 or 5 time a week over the winter which was the catylist in my loosing more than 80 lbs to date. If you know my Mom Ursula you know I have an altrusitic side hard-wired in to me and as my Dad succumed to Alzheimer's I can think of no better charity, considering the advances made recently. I propose to skate at least 1000 laps this winter with a donation of 1 cent per lap. I hope to raise at least $1000.
