Campaign Story
I am voluntarily going to run a mile a day. For those of you who know me, I hate running, even if it's just a mile, but in March I am going to run every single day, 31 days in a row, to raise money.
Why am I raising money? To help my friend and colleague, Mieke Ten Eikelder, who has signed up for a charity dance competition in which she is going to take 10 dancing lessons with her dance partner and also colleague Zaid Hasafa, after which they will perform in front of a judge and 300+ people! They are doing this to raise money for the Gynaecological Oncology Research fund at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, where we work.
I think research is an incredibly important way of improving patient care, outcomes and quality of life. Still over 7000 patients die of gynaecological cancer in the UK every year!! Therefore, more research is needed.
