I am trying to support Judo tournaments for children in Nepal.

I used to teach Judo in 2019 as a volunteer coach.

A lot of children in Nepal are practicing Judo. Some of these children were living on the streets as orphans. Judo is very important for them not only for gaining the physical skills, but also as an educational tool to learn discipline, moral lessons, self-control and friendship.

But unfortunately, they usually have no opportunities to test their abilities.

So the National judo association is going to open the NECOS All Nepal Judo tournament on March 16th - 19th, 2023.

This tournament is for children under 21 years old. And because of COVID and a lack of funds, it is the second time since December 2018 they have not been able to hold the tournament.

I would really like to see this tournament be a success for the children in Nepal.

I am sure this opportunity will definitely be a great experience for them.

And they are going to invite the Bhutan team too!

このページをご覧いただき、誠にありがとうございます。

私は、ネパールの子どもたちの柔道大会をサポートしたいと思い、

このクラウドファンディングを立ち上げました。

私は4年前、ネパールでボランティアコーチとして活動していました。

ネパールでは、たくさんの子どもたちが柔道を頑張っています。

中には、ストリートチルドレンだった子どもたちも、孤児院で柔道と出会い、生活の一部に柔道があり、近年世界大会で活躍する選手も出て来ています。

そして、彼らは競技としてだけではなく、武道家として、礼儀や、道徳心、自制心、チームワークや友情の大切さも学んでいます。

しかし、残念ながら彼らには日頃の稽古の成果を発揮する機会がありません。

そこで、ネパール国内の柔道連盟は18歳以下のネパール全国の子どもたちのため、［第二回NECOS全ネパール柔道大会］の開催を考えています。

第一回NECOS柔道大会は、2018年12月に開催されましたが、新型コロナウイルスの影響や資金調達が難しく、それ以降の開催実現はできませんでした。

私は、この大会は子どもたちにとって、かけがえのない経験となることを確信しています。大会は、子どもたちの大きな成長に繋がるからです。私自身、子どもの頃数多くの柔道大会を経験しました。これは私個人の意見ですが、自分で自分の心臓の音が聞こえるほどの緊張感の中、大きな舞台に一人で上がり相手に挑む…これほど勇気のいることは、「大会」でしか経験できないのではないかと思います。

また、それは日頃の稽古の成果を1番実感できる瞬間なのです。自分が何を得意とするか、何が自分の課題なのかを学ぶこともできます。

このような機会を、ネパールで柔道を頑張る子どもたちにも経験してほしいという願いから、少しでも大会開催のお手伝いをしたいと思い、今回クラウドファンディングという形を取らせていただきました。
