Amazon Shelter needs your help!
As you know, many areas around the world are being affected by the coronavirus and we are one of them. Peru has closed their borders and is not letting anyone out or into the country until further notice. This means we will not be able to receive our groups of volunteers, leaving us to be cut off our main source of income. Our volunteer program helps us sustain the center by supporting us with; food, medicine, repairs, emergency medical procedures and pays for our on site veterinarian. With little to no visitors, due to the advised isolation, we aren't receiving our ongoing financial support which has us worried for all 60+ animals under our care.No volunteers/visitors= no financial support (no food, no medicine, no additional help)
At the moment we have ZERO money to pay for the animals upkeep. We spend about $500 dollars a week on food only, not including emergency expenses or medicine.
No one was ready for this pandemic. We weren't prepared and this is why we call on everyone that supports the center now more than ever. Our main priority is that we can get through this isolation with enough money to buy food and medicine for all the animals at our center. We are lucky enough to have 3 volunteers at this time alongside our intern, vet and nutritionist helping us get through this.
If you are able to donate anything at this time, please do. Everything is accepted and appreciated.
Thanks for your help and ongoing Support,
Magali and the Amazon Shelter team.
