This is the result of a research project on dance education in Greece that took place in April 2021 and will be presented soon.
24 people participated in this project, 13 senior dance students and 11 graduates from dance schools in Athens, answering a series of questions related to education and the professional field of dance. The resulting film captures the perspective and experience of people who have studied or studied dance until recently, and seeks to bring their concerns and needs in touch with the artistic and educational community. Τhe ultimate goal is to imagine what dance education would like to be like and to spark a wider public debate on it.
The first screening of the film will be open to the public, free of charge, and we would like an open discussion to follow. It will then be uploaded to an online platform and will remain accessible and free to anyone wishing to watch it.
This project is an independent initiative, it is not for profit, nor is it funded from somewhere. The people we worked for it did it voluntarily, believing in the need to open a fruitful and reflective dialogue for dance education, focusing on the opinion of the people who experience it. That's why your contribution is extremely important in order to raise money and pay for post-production work.
P.S. Unfortunatelly, we have not yet managed to upload the teaser with English subtitles, but we promise to do it as soon as possible!
