As many of our community members know, Rugaz specializes in medical cases (Specifically Demodex) dogs that are put by the wayside, overlooked or simply too far gone for many other agencies to take. Not only did we take on one or two but...FIVE in just the past couple of weeks! We need help to save these guys from the life they have had!

Meet the Demodex Five.......

"Darby"

This special boy is a very tiny, very frail little man. He has the most soulful eyes, and the most painful swelling and skin we have seen in quite some time. He was surrendered (Thankfully in time due to a concerned citizen) to one of our local agencies as his owner was going to shoot him instead of seeking medical treatment for his advanced case of demodectic mange or demodex. Darby's skin on his paws and chest are so raw and swollen that they are cracking and ripping open. He is currently receiving intense medical treatment. Not only is this boy fighting a severe case of demodex and all the ailments that come along with it, but he also a severe upper respiratory infection.

"Sundae"

This sweet girl's case isn't as severe as "Darby's case, but she was well on her way without care. Her skin is becoming raw/swollen and sores are starting to appear all over her body.

"Winona"

Thankfully, this sweet girl's case also isn't as severe but like Sundae, she was well on her way without care. Her skin is becoming raw and swollen as sores are starting to appear all over her body. She is also suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Our veterinarian also discovered that "Winona" had a foreign body lodged in her throat which had to be surgically removed.

"Emmet,” who was found as a stray, is also suffering from demodectic mange as well as secondary skin infections, which complicates his condition and requires antibiotic therapy. Emmet is currently in isolation at the veterinarian’s office to help protect him from potential infection until the antibiotics build up in his system.

"Snoopy"

Without our Community, volunteers, fosters and donors we would not be able to save pets like Darby and Snoopy.
