Women’s Shelter in Need

7 years ago I was referred to a shelter for abused women to help me get away from an abusive spouse. They saved my life and helped me get on my feet again. I volunteer there now and have ever since I left. Now this shelter needs my help and yours! Domestic violence is very hard to get away from. Many times there are children involved and the mothers live in constant fear. It takes real courage to run away and start over. Most of these women do so with nothing but the clothes on their backs!
The shelter currently houses 32 women and 14 kids of various ages. They are in need of money to continue helping these women. Putting a life back together is not easy or cheap. They need money for food, utilities, clothing, basic necessities, and transportation to get the women to and from job interviews and appointments. 
Being a former victim I feel obligated to help as many women get out and start over as I possibly can but I can not do it alone. Please help. Every bit counts and is appreciated. Even if all you have to give are prayers and words of encouragement!

This shelter is associated with The Center of Hope of Maury County. You can read all about them on their website. The shelter I am fundraising for is for women and children of extreme violence and not publicly known to protect the families.
