Aloha everyone!

We are kindly asking you to partner with us and our nonprofit sponsors, Coaching Boys Into Men and Ala Kuola Hawai'i, to help send our Hawai'i Seahawks 10u boys NFL flag football team to Las Vegas to compete in the 2014 WASUP Spring National 5vs5 Flag Football Tournament.  Being these boys' coaches has allowed us to not only teach them about football, but also about life.  With the help of CBIM and Ala Kuola, one aspect that we focus on is teaching our boys about building respectful, non-violent relationships and about the destructive nature of domestic violence.

Now before you go race to get your wallet, as a partner with us, we'd love it if you got to know a little bit about the team you're supporting.  We currently play in Hawai'i Sports Academy's flag football league here on O'ahu, in the 10u division.  It was around mid-season when we, the coaches and parents, realized that together, our 7 boys really made for a great team.  As such, we thought it would be awesome if they were able to compete on a national level with other kids their age.  After some research we found the 2014 WASUP Spring National Flag Football Tournament, conveniently being held at the conclusion of our season.

Now if you're a parent (or even if you're not), you can attest that kids' sports aren't cheap.  From registration fees to equipment, it all adds up.  Most of these kids come from lower income families and have multiple siblings, so as you could imagine, a trip to the mainland is not something they can easily afford.  Nevertheless, we didn't want to let their families' financial situation rob them of this experience and the memories that they would forever share.  That was when we approached our sponsors, Coaching Boys Into Men & Ala Kuola, about helping us mobilize this fundraising campaign to get the kids up there.

We are hoping that with your donations, coupled with our Aloha Stadium Car Wash Fundraiser on April 6th, we will be able to fully pay for our boys' airfare, hotel, food, and registration fees.   Our goal is $5,000.  Any amount received in excess of that will go towards the boys' registration fees for their next flag football season and team equipment.
