About This Campaign

I have been friends with Arie Luster since high school.  Arie was the first person I met when I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma during my junior year of high school.  From the first time that she tapped me on the shoulder and simply asked, "Do you want to see my photos?", I knew that we would be friends forever.  Arie is the nicest and most giving person I have had the privilege to know.  Her strength and love for others warms my heart and encourages me every day.  I am so proud to call her sister and blessed to have her in my life.

In March 2010 Arie was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and immediately underwent 6 months of chemo therapy.  Although it was extremely challenging, Arie always remained positive and rooted in Christ.  She was confident that God would bring her through and that she was in good hands with the doctors at Piedmont Hospital.  In November 2010, Arie completed her last chemo treatment.  After follow up tests, Arie doctor pronounced her cancer free!

Unfortunately, on September 7th Arie was informed that the cancer was back and that it moved to a few lymph nodes on her lower abdomen.  Although disappointed Arie still remains strong and positive.  She knows what to expect and believes that her going through this rough time will help to encourage someone else.  She recently started a new position at Clark Atlanta University and because she is still in probationary period she does not qualify for vacation or disability. Arie will also have to pay for her chemo treatments directly out of pocket.  Arie will be going through 8 treatments (4 months) of chemo therapy and will not be able to go back to work until January 2013.  During this time she will have no income and as she will be on sick leave with no pay.  Please consider standing with Arie by making a gift to help her and, her son, Nate during this tough time.  Any amount that you can spare will be helpful.

Thank you in advance for your attention, prayers and donations.

Arie beat cancer once and will do it again with the help of YOU!
