Saving “August”

Meet "August",  His story, unfortunately.. Is not very different then many dogs we are seeing anymore. He was tied outside on a large tow chain to live out his days. This unfortunately has contributed to many of his severe medical ailments that are currently threatening his life. We are working with the County Animal Services on justice for August lack of medical care. August is Grade 4 Heartworm Positive, he has fluid in his abdomen, battling a yeast infection from long term weather conditions, Severe intestinal parasite infection that is not allowing him to gain any nutritional value from his food intake and is now battling a severe bacterial pneumonia infection on top of his severe malnutrition. August is currently being treated at the Animal Hospital of Regency Park and on a strict small frequent food diet to battle his malnutrition (Starvation), On two different sets of strong antibiotics to treat his Heartworm Disease and pneumonia Among being treated for his skin/yeast and intestinal parasites. August can barely be active without wheezing and having to catch his breath, He is currently on nebulizing treatments to try to help clear his lungs and breathing patterns, but without the help of our community it wont be possible to keep up long term care for this sweet, sweet soul that has seen so much, and only deserves to see a couch and loving family for the rest of his days.You can see in Augusts photos how happy he is simply to be loved and touched and that is simply what he has done to everyone he meets.
