Creating this fund raiser for Nadine and Douglas Wilson, to help recover some of the cost of the losses they faced when their cottage was flooded by the Canaan River April 16th 2014.  They lost everything inside the cottage including items that are irreplaceable.  The overall damage is staggering, and the entire cottage will need the walls, floors, insulation etc removed down to the skeleton of the building, and then rebuilt.  Their insurance only covered fire damage, not flood damage.

Nadine and Douglas are great people who help the community in any way they can.  They have helped numerous people in the last year alone who have been devistated by fires to their uninsured homes.  They have co-ordinated drop of and pick up of items to help these people start their new lives after disaster.  Nadine donates most of her free time to helping out people in need, she is also an active supporter of the local Cat Rescue.  She is also in charge of the Salisbury Pay it Forwards movement to help those in need.

They have huge hearts and wouldnt' hesistate to donate their time and what resources they can offer to anyone in need. This is a devistating and heartbreaking loss to our family and although it's a steep amount that we honestly don't expect to achieve every dollar counts and we are grateful for every donation.  We rarely ask  for help from anyone but this is our time of need.

Thank you to those who are able to help, in any way possible.  Please don't hesitate to contact if you can help in other ways (Eg. Gutting, Rebuilding, removing debris, anything)

UPDATE: Not a good day. The emergency response team just visited the cottage and estimate we have a 95% damage. They have also had to condemn our hydro and totally shut it off the grid. We need to find an electrician now to entirely re-wire everything including the electrical panel, meter, all outlets and remove all the old wiring and replace. After this they will have to have a special permit and inspection then pay again to restore everything. This is before we do anything else. He also let us know not to keep our hopes up for financial assistance as it looks like they may only cover homes  Very disheartening. ANYONE KNOW OF A GOODWILL OR REASONABLE ELECTRICIAN
