The 50001 Youth Training Trust is a Lowestoft based maritime youth training Charity, (registered charity no. 1160783)
Working alongside other organisations or directly with the end user, the trust aims to provide young & disadvantaged individuals, including those not in education, employment or training, young carers and/or members of local youth organisations, with leisure time and/or respite care through activities and excursions on-board their Lowestoft built former lifeboat “Rotary Service”.

Furthermore the trust also intend to operate training sessions to provide young people, students and disadvantaged individuals with industry recognised training in maritime skills, plus assisting with professional development and social skills. The 50ft former lifeboat is to be used for afloat based training, as well as for practical examinations, in the hope that the skills learnt by trainees can be transferred into a career in the maritime sector.

"Rotary Service" will be mainly crewed by volunteers, where practical. With many of the volunteers coming from a varying range of maritime backgrounds including former and current RNLI Crews, Coastguards and Merchant navy personnel. Each Volunteer adds his or her passion for education and preservation of maritime heritage.

The Trust have previously successfully raised the funding required to purchase the vessel, and secured further funding and sponsorship to bring her back to Lowestoft where the refurbishment process both internally and externally, has begun, in order to prepare the vessel for her new role as a youth training vessel.
