Lifesaving surgery for pug hit by car

Update: we were able to take Cameron home yesterday! He is in a lot of pain, but is very happy to be home with mommy and daddy. We were able to pay $800 of the $4200 owed total, thanks to the generous contributions raised here, and our small savings. The vet has asked us to pay an additional $1200 ASAP, and he will give us six months to pay off the last $2200, which is extremely generous.

On Friday, April 24th, my beloved pug Cameron slipped out the back door when my husband was going out to work in the yard. He did not notice Cameron slipped out behind him. We live on a fairly busy road, and tragically, Cameron ran out into the street and was struck by a car. We rushed him to the emergency vet and he was taken into surgery for internal bleeding.   

Cameron survived the surgery against some long odds. He also has a broken leg. The vet expects we can take him home on Tuesday or Wednesday, but we must pay half the balance of the cost of his care. In total, the cost of his surgery and other hospital bills is over $4000. my husband and I are going through difficult financial times currently, due to the fact that David was laid off from his job three weeks ago. We were declined for care credit. We have only a small amount of credit available on our credit cards. We expect to have around $500 of the $2000 that we are required to pay by Tuesday, when we will be able to take him home. Again, the total cost of his care is over $4000.   

David and I love Cameron as if he were our child. Please consider giving any amount that you can to help us afford his care. this has come at the worst possible time for us, financially. If this had happened 6 months ago we would have been able to afford it. we are not asking for the full amount, as the vet is willing to give us some time to pay the full amount; we are only asking for what we are required to pay to bring him home on Tuesday.
