Richard William Dunderdale was a loved father, husband, father in law, uncle and grandfather.  His passion in life was derived from two things... Playing the drums and Spain. In 2008 Rick was struck down with a stroke which rendered him unable to play the drums.  From that day forward he spoke on nothing else but his time in Spain and his intention to return there to live.   Over the past few years Rick suffered with worsening Alzheimer's disease.  Despite his decreasing physical and mental condition he still strove to visit Spain as often as he could and he still managed to speak Spanish to the locals, much more sporadically, but a fine reflection of the book he wrote to teach people Spanish.   Three weeks ago Rick and Rita (my mother in law) came out to visit us in Spain.  It was obvious from the outset that his condition had worsened and it looked like this would be his last time out here in Spain.  We were not ready for how right we would be.   Rick had a fall on his first night and despite improving over the week, he sadly passed away in his sleep on the thursday night.  Throughout the entire horror and shock of the situation we managed to stay together and ensure everything was done to ensure his wishes were carried out (his cremation here in Spain).  We were asked a day after his death to pay up front for his cremation... something that was impossible whilst my mother in law was here in Spain and needed to be in the UK to fetch all relevant paperwork and apply to the DWP to cover his funeral costs.    Surprise surprise my mother in law has been TURNED DOWN and my father in law is stranded in a morgue in Torrevieja, Spain in wait of the 12 WEEK waiting time before my mother in law can appeal the decision.   THIS IS NOT RIGHT.  The entire family want nothing more than to put closure on what has been the most traumatic experience of the decade.  The UK government seem unable to pay the basic cremation of our loved one as he died in Spain (something nobody planned!).   We humbly ask for your donations so that we may quickly and resolutely lay Richard William Dunderdale to rest in the country he loved.  We have no other option and we have no other choice.  We need help.  Please Help us.
