The Mar-Va Theater is a renovated vaudeville theater located in Pocomoke City, Maryland. After 10+ years of renovations, the theater is now facing a potential closure due to the upgrading film companies. Still operating with 35mm films, the Mar-Va must make the leap into the digital age to continue showing newer movies. If we are unable to make the change, we will be forced to close once again. The Mar-Va has one paid employee and functions with volunteers during events. We help students obtain community service hours and give them the fundamentals of working with the public. Please help us make the upgrade so we're able to continue!

Any donations over $100 will receive 2 tickets to our annual Christmas production in December. We are a 501(c)3 and all donations are tax exempt.

  • Were you aware that The Mar-Va is primarily manned by volunteers? The theater is not a for-profit business. Currently they are faced with having to close because very soon movies will no longer be available in the format for the equipment they currently use. Please help The Mar-Va Theater keep their doors open by making a donation. The service they provide is so important. Help them continue to provide our community with great family-oriented movies and wonderful live performances. Any amount will help!

  • The Marva Theater is a treasure to the community of Pocomoke. We go on movie dates once a month and feel so lucky to have the hometown theater that is so charming in our backyard.

  • We cannot let the Marva close again, especially after all the hard work and money raised to make it a wonderful community theater and performing arts center for Pocomoke citizens. The Marva is a jewel which cannot be lost.
