Campaign Story
Kaiser is my son & his family's pet & is definitely a very much loved family member. He is a 3 year old German Shepherd, who was a very active dog and has such a lovely gentle personality.
On 26th November 2013, Kaiser suffered a spinal stroke and is now paralysed from the neck down. The vet says he has a fair chance of recovery but needs 24/7 care at home and also physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions. He needs turning every hour to stop him getting bed sores, as dogs can't recover from them, so day and night he has to be turned every hour. Besides the professional therapy he is having, the also needs his legs and feet moving and massaging many times through the day and night.
He is improving a little already but still has a long way to go and will have to undergo treatment for months before much more progress is seen.
He is a much loved member of our family and we have to do everything we can to help him get well again. As the vet says he has a good chance of getting back to his active self again, it's the least we can do to help him recover. It's no less than anyone would do for a loved one.
We are trying to raise funds for his treatment, as all the therapy sessions he has to have are expensive and his treatment has cost over £4000 already.
With the best will in the world, we can't raise all the funds we need ourselves. Please can you help us and Kaiser, to give him a chance to get his life back.

Kaiser almost back to normal

Kaiser is now Walking!!!
Update posted by Jenonnet at 02:57 pmThanks to all you who have helped us, Kaiser is now walking!!! There's still a long way to go but this is a minor miracle in itself. He's still wobbly but is at least on all fours and holding his own weight up now. We couldn't have done it without
Set-back but now back on track
Update posted by Jenonnet at 05:58 pmKaiser has had a set-back as he's had some sores on his legs and the vet said no more going in his hammock on wheels and no more hydrotherapy until they had healed. This was upsetting, as it take a long time and hard work to build his muscles up

Kaiser is Progressing Well
Update posted by Jenonnet at 02:42 pmKaiser is progressing well & can now manage to pull himself forward with his front legs while in his harness on wheels. He can also manage to sit up by himself for a few minutes. This is great progress & we are so pleased. We are very grateful for the. . . . .
