Thank you so much to each and everyone of you that has been kind enough to sign and share our petition. The response has been immensely overwhelming. I am now hoping that each of you will help us in other ways as we overcome our next hurdle. I am requesting financial assistance to help fund our Appeal Hearing.

I applied for Legal Aid on the 9th December 2014 - since then I have had to submit an endless list of financial documents in the hope that I will qualify for financial help to meet the legal costs associated with our Appeal due to take place in March. The hearing is just 2 weeks away and I am no closer to knowing if I am eligible. The hearing has already been adjourned twice to accommodate the Legal Aid application process, which has proved long and worry some.

I am now very conscious of the fact that it is unlikely that a court will adjourn for a third time, and that I am running out of time for seeking legal advice, something which has been denied to me since making my statement to the police on the 6th October 2014, because I do not have the financial means to meet the legal fees.

I cannot re mortgage my home as it is subject to a suspended warrant for possession, I have multiple debts which have had an adverse impact on my credit worthiness and I work from home, living off a small income, as a crafter after suffering with depression on and off throughout my adult life. I do not have the means nor capacity to borrow from anywhere and I possess no insurance policies able to cover our legal expenses.

With this heavy weight hanging over us, as a last resort I am seeking the generosity and good will of the public to help us fund the costs of our Appeal. I need to raise the following:

£1,000 to cover the cost of the Pet Behaviourist Assessment (this will provide valuable insight to the court as to Herbii’s nature so that we can reasonably argue that he poses no danger to the public). £1,000 to cover the cost of the Pet Behaviourist providing Expert Testimony at the Appeal Hearing. £1,250 to cover the costs of having a Barrister represent us in court.
