Family in Cuba

A few years ago we went down to Cuba, handing out toys, pens and sweets to children and on the way back - having a few things left - driving down a road. A little girl (3) and her mom were outside theri house, she came up to my boys gave them a hug, it almost brought tears to my eyes, she didnt even know us.

Over the years I sent down parcels (they made it all) and brought things every time visiting Cuba, even a bicycle for the husband. One evening, sitting in their room, their "pregnant" pig came in, they were so proud. But by the time we left, the pig was gone and they found it 30 minutes later being hit on the road. After talking to the tour-guide how to get a pig, we gave them just $80. The next day they had a new pig for $30 of that. Do I feel $30 more or less in my pocket by the end of the day? What difference that made to those people! Good exchange rate!

By talking to people I understood that it would cost possibly $8000 to build them a house, one that does not fall apart in the next huricane; they live in a straw-hat right now. It would be a dream to help such good people. I feel rude to ask for funding, but want to try it. I give my word that every single penny will go there! Thank you!  Skip your coffee tomorrow!
