 Help us saving paper, money and use it for students

Philosophat Edith Stein is a high profile institute of Philosophy in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Most of the students attend its courses to become a professor of philosophy at secondary schools and also at University of Kinsagani. The level of the lessons and teachings is very high, but the Philosophat  needs essential services and funding.

We are working on providing some of this to grant them the chance of cultural development:

1. Congo Digital Students: ebook readers for students. We would like to let the students have ebook readers for clipboards and booklets written by their professors. In this way they can study without having to photocopy and therefore save lot of money and paper  (50 thousands papers, which means they save up to 2800$ every year.
2. Charter Container: Goods from Italy. Some volunteers have arranged the shipment of furniture (for example chairs and tables) as well as other goods (computers and other appliances) from Italy to Kinsagani. The shipment  needs lots of bureaucratic fulfillments and is very expensive.

The Project we want to support will give the chance to Philosophat Edit Stein’s students, to study and spread development by using the most important way to do so, through teachings, lessons and culture.

  Portiamo cultura e tecnologia al filosofato Edith Stein

Il Filosofato Edith Stein è un istituto universitario di filosofia che rilascia diplomi di laurea in filosofia.
La maggior parte degli studenti diventa docente di filosofia della scuola secondaria, e alcuni addirittura professori universitari presso l’università statale di Kisangani. 

Il livello degli studi è eccellente ma l’istituto manca di alcuni servizi essenziali; per sostenere uno sviluppo culturale sono state attivate le seguenti iniziative:

1. Congo Digital Students: eBook reader per gli studenti. Il filosofato, nonostante una biblioteca ben fornita (2500 volumi), non ha libri di testo. Per evitare di sprecare soldi tempo e carta in fotocopie degli appunti e delle dispense (c.ca 50mila fogli=2800$ l’anno risparmiati!), raccogliamo fondi per fornire le classi di eBook reader (lettori di libri digitali) su cui gli stuenti possono leggere le dispense dei docenti in formato elettronico. Una classe è già riuscita ad averli e gli studenti sono contentissimi.
2. Charter Container: beni dall'Italia al Congo. Alcuni amici si sono offerti di inviare beni necessari al Filosofato, come computer, sedie, mobilio…  La spedizione è molto cara e ci sono un sacco di pratiche da sbrigare. 

L'iniziativa che vogliamo intraprendere permette di dare agli studenti la possibilità di studiare e promuovere lo sviluppo con l'arma più efficace che abbiamo: la cultura.

  Aide nous à économiser papier, argent et à l'utiliser pour les étudiants

Dans l’Institut Universitaire Philosophat Édith Stein les textes scolaires ne sont pas nombreux. Il y a une bibliothèque, dotée d’environ 2500 ouvrages, mais les étudiants travaillent sur les syllabus que les professeurs rédigent.

 Normalement le coût des syllabus et des photocopies retombe sur le patrimoine forestier mondial sur le budget de l’Institut Universitaire.

Le projet que nous voulons proposer est celui de donner aux étudiants la possibilité d’étudier sur le lecteurs de livres numérisés – ce qu’on appelle eReaders –   en annulant l’utilisation des syllabus et le gaspillage d’argent et du papier.

On pourrait épargner une quantité énorme des photocopies (et d’arbres), au peu près 2800$ chaque année, qui seront utilisées pour les nécessités des étudiants et du Philosophat.

  Llevamos cultura y tecnología al Filosofado Edith Stein.

El Filosofado Edith Stein es un instituto universitario de filosofía queotorga diplomas de grado en filosofía. La mayoría de los estudiantes se convierten en profesores de filosofía de la escuela secundaria y algunos incluso profesores universitarios en la universidad estatal de Kisangani.
El nivel de los estudiantes es excelente pero el instituto carece de algunos servicios esenciales; para sustentar un desarrollo cultural han sido activadas las siguientes iniciativas: 

1. Congo Digital Student: e-reader para los estudiantes. El filosofado, a
   pesar de una biblioteca bien dotada (2.500 volúmenes), no tiene libros de texto. Para evitar malgastar dinero, tiempo y papel en fotocopias de apuntes y fascículos (aprox 50mil hojas: ¡2.800$ ahorrados cada año!), recaudamos fondos para dotar  a  las clases de e-reader (lectores de libros digitales) con los que los estudiantes pueden leer los fascículos de los profesores  en formato electrónico. Una clase ya los tiene y los estudiantes están muy contentos. 
2. Charter Container: bienes de Italia a Congo. Algunos amigos se han ofrecido para enviar bienes necesarios al Filosofado, como ordenadores, sillas, mobiliario...! La expedición cuesta mucho y hay muchos documentos que cumplimentar.

La iniciativa que queremos emprender permite dar a los estudiantes la posibilidad de estudiar y promover el desarrollo con el arma más eficaz que tenemos: la cultura.
